If you improve your writing skills you can improve your sales.

Before any of your prospects become customers they will read your website, your leaflets, your letters, and catalogues. At a basic level they will make judgements about you and your company from the writing - is the spelling correct, is it believable, are you dependable, etc.

But at a more advanced level you can use what you write to influence them and guide them towards buying. That is the result of the best copywriting.

So how do you do it? Well, it takes some study and some practice. Look out for well written copy, and consider what makes it good. Practice writing your own copy, and keep refining it. And you can also seek to learn from the experts.

One such expert is Daniel Levis. I found his Free Copywriting Tips blog recently, and found some of the ideas interesting - so I thought I'd highlight it to you.

One article which caught my eye was how the SPIN selling principles apply to copywriting on the web.

SPIN stands for 'Situation, Problem, Implication, Need Pay-off', and it's a simple but effective sales process devised by Neil Rackham. There's a book available called 'SPIN selling' if you'd like to know more.

So, study the art of better copywriting, practice it, and sell more stuff!
