Postbank, a financial services company in Holland, has launched a campaign to promote entrepreneurship to children who open a bank account.

Suggested business ideas include washing cars, walking dogs, household chores and 'entertainment', and the website helps children to pick a business name, create a logo, and print business cards, t-shirts, promotional flyers etc. When they've done the work the site helps them produce an invoice, and the client can then transfer the money to their bank account.

These 'business ideas' will be nothing new to adults who remember them as just a way for kids to earn pocket money, but it seems that the current young generation isn't simply expected to get work to earn money and has an expectation that parents will just dish it out - so this is a great way of them learning some level of responsibility, self-reliance and that money has to be earned. It can also show that business is fun and rewarding - however small!
