My Books

FlyingStartups re-design

I run a website for readers of my books at www.flyingstartups.com.

It's a free site, and members keep online diaries (Pilot's Logs) of the development of their businesses, and help each other out in the forums.

We've now upgraded the site and re-designed it to make it faster and easier to use - so do take a look at www.flyingstartups.com.

My first book, Start Your Business Week by Week, has just been translated and published in Romanian - and the first email has arrived from a reader in Romania.

He's just started his new business, based in Botosani, and I wish him lots of fun and good fortune.

When in Rome...

I've just been contacted by an Italian journalist with an enquiry about "L'Imprenditore visto da vicino".

Why I write the books

A lot of people ask me how I manage to write two books a year as well as running a couple of fast-growing businesses. And sometimes, in the early hours of the morning when I'm still writing, and knowing I'll only get 5 hours sleep before going to work, I wonder why I do it!  read more »

How to be an Entrepreneur

I've just had more news about international versions of my books. An Italian edition of 'How to be an Entrepreneur' is in the works, and will be published early next year.

But don't expect my language skills to come up to scratch to do an Italian version of the Audio CD of the same title!!

I've just been told by my publisher that a Russian publisher has licensed the rights to produce a localised version of 'How to Fund your Business'. There are now quite a few international versions of my books, and I'm looking forward to seeing this one in print too, though I'm not sure I'll be able to make much sense of it.

Здравствуйте (That's 'hello' in Russian (I hope))

Straight in at number 3 in the charts....

....Yes, it's How to be an Entrepreneur, my latest book, straight in at Number 3 in the WH Smith Business Book chart. I've just been in London for a couple of days and was very excited to pass through the Smith's store at Kings Cross (ok, ok - to go in with the express intention of seeing how the book was doing), and find I was at number 3.  read more »

How to be an Entrepreneur published

My fourth book, How to be an Entrepreneur has now been published and is available for sale. In the book I explore what it is that highly successful entrepreneurs feel, believe and do that makes them able to achieve success.

It's subtitle is 'The Six Secrets of Self-Made Success' because I found that there were six things that successful entrepreneurs were doing well.  read more »

How to fund your business published

My third book, How to Fund Your Business, has been published and is on sale. The book aims to be an easy to understand, yet comprehensive, guide to raising finance for start-up and growing companies. It's written for entrepreneurs, rather than finance people, and gives the real inside story on the different forms and sources of funding.  read more »

My book 'How to be an Entrepreneur' will be published later this month, and I've received the great news that it has been selected as Book of the Month for September in WH Smith Travel. These are the WH Smith shops in airports and railway stations.

So if you're planning on buying the book it'd be great if you'd look out for it there please!

It Works!

I blogged recently about my latest book "How to Fund Your Business", because I had submitted the final manuscript to the publisher.

Well, in parrallel with the last stages of writing the book, I had been using the ideas and advice in it to help a friend of mine raise £1.5m for his new business.  read more »

Global Domination

I popped into the London Bookfair today at the Exel centre in London.

Turning Japanese

I've just been told by my publisher that 'Start Your Business Week by Week' is being translated into Japanese!!

Gakubun-sha of Tokyo has bought the translation rights and will release their version in the summer of 2007.

I'm very excited about this, and will be celebrating with a bottle of Sake this weekend.
